Jon Sigurdsson Chapter IODE Scholarships

Imperial Order Daughters of the Empire (IODE) is a Canadian women's charitable organization whose mission is to improve the quality of life for children, youth and those in need, through educations, social services and citizenship programs.

There are a number of financial award opportunities for post-secondary students being made available through the Jon Sigurdsson Chapter IODE, including:

Johanna Gudrun Skaptason Memorial Scholarship
($500) -- For a student who has successfully completed grade 12 and is accepted or registered in a first year programme at a Manitoba University.

Anna Skaptason Memorial Scholarship ($500) -- For a University of Manitoba student enrolled in the Integrated Bachelor of Music/Bachelor of Education, or Bachelor of Music Program.

Neil Bardal Scholarship ($500) -- For a post-secondary student who has demonstrated high academic achievement and has been involved in citizenship, in school and/or the community.

Candidates are selected on the basiss of academic excellence, good citizenship and leadership potential. If the students is of Icelandic decent, it should be included in the application. Note that Icelandic anscestry is not a criteria for eligibility.
