Food Sciences Scholarship

A brand new scholarship for students who are interested in pursuing their studies in the Food Science program at the University of Manitoba’s Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences. These scholarships are supported from the Guelph Food Technology Centre (GFTC) Legacy Fund, which was established to support scholarships and programs focused on the food production and processing industries. This year there are three scholarships to be awarded to students entering our Faculty, valued at up to $8,000 each.

The scholarships, valued at $4,000 each, will be offered to undergraduate students who:
-- have graduated from high school with a minimum average of 85% on those courses considered for admission to the University of Manitoba;
-- have met the entrance requirements for the Direct Entry Program Option of the Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences at the University of Manitoba;
-- are enrolled full-time (minimum 80% course load) in the Bachelor of Science in Food Science degree program in the year in which the scholarship is tenable.

The scholarships are renewable at a value of $4,000 each for a maximum of one year provided the recipient:
-- enrolls full-time (minimum 80% course load) in the second year of study in the Bachelor of Science in Food Science degree program;
-- has achieved a minimum degree grade point average of 3.0.

The deadline for receipt of the application for this scholarship is Monday, May 5th. 2014.
